Swaying in the crisp November air glows a lantern atop the approaching caravan. The faint sounds of toe-tapping gypsy-jazz gradually crescendo. The mysterious soundtrack has a slight variation... yes, the vocalist must be doing something different. In fact: is it? yes, it IS a different singer. Excited; you crane your neck to catch a glimpse, and strain to listen as the intoxicating melodies envelop you.

The caravan is bound for Katerina's, and has the wonderful Amanda Wolff joining the troupe this Monday November 28th.

lePercolateur, Chicago’s favorite hipster gypsy-jazz combo swings Chicago's ecclectic & popular music venue, Katerina's. Catch this unique and exciting band which boasts a power-house 4 piece string ensemble and the acclaimed and soulful vocal stylings of Nicole Peterson-Pearce at this and other regular gigs in the city and beyond.

lePercolateur has been playing to rapt audiences in the Chicagoland area for the past 3 years and has been featured in such illustrious locations as Chicago Cultural Center, Chopin Theatre, Galaxie, Uncommon Ground, the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival and the Chicago Jazz Festival C.Jazz performance stage. The group consists of front-woman Pearce, Marielle deRocca-Serra on violin, Stacy McMichael on the upright bass, Sam Random, resident songwriter of the company’s original pieces including “Dancing in the Kitchen” and “All I Want is You,” on guitar and vocals and features Mr. Kevin Rush on lead guitar. This fresh, fun collection of local musicians endeavors to put a hip, current twist on a classic musical style and delivers to their crowds with spruced up standards and cleverly covered contemporary hits along with hours of entertainment that have them on their feet and singing along at each show.
