Planeta Azul is an artistically rich group of Brazilian musicians complimented by the lovely ‘Passistas’ Samba dancers. This diverse group specializes in all forms of Brazilian music: Samba, Batucada/Brazilian Percussion, Bossa Nova /Brazilian Jazz, Samba Reggae and MPB, to name a few. Comprised of some of the most highly regarded musicians in the Chicago music scene (Brazilian and non): Luciano Antonio, Felipe Fraga, Jack Zara, Eddie Gerber, and Geraldo De Oliveira …each artist is a master of their respective craft and has the innate sense needed to achieve the passion of this compelling music and beat. Together they bring the splendor of Brazilian music and dance to every event, celebrating the beauty of sound, movement, and culture.
The Passistas Samba dance group is Chicago’s premier samba dance company. Passistas strives to evoke the essence of the rainhas and musas of carnaval, the queens and muses, whose official role is to be the inspiration of the bateria (percussion section), to embody the spirit of their samba school, gracing all with their elegance, charm and passion for samba.
Sound Culture has decided to hide the list of guests.
